Exploring North Sulawesi

During the two MEL capacity building activities, we also have the opportunities to visit and explore some parts of the North Sulawesi province.

the Woloan, famous for its “rumah kayu” or wooden-house products, where you can order your preferred design, have it delivered to your destination (both domestic and overseas), and they will build the house for you!

Woloan is located in Tomohon district, about 45 minutes drive from Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi. The recently errupted mount Lokon is the “icon” of Tomohon.

Another part that we had the chance to visit is Poigar where office the Forest Management Unit or Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (KPH) Poigar is located. We were divided into four groups with different sites, ours is Toyopon Village.

it’s so great to get away from the city for a while and spend The day in the village, where we are surrounded by green trees, beautiful views, happy children, traditional houses, and friendly people!
